JJL Motorsports set for final Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway

HOMESTEAD, Fla.: Set to embark on their final NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) race under the JJL Motorsports banner, driver Jesse Little hopes to deliver a strong showing in Friday night’s season-finale Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

Little, the Sherrills Ford, N.C. native is poised to make his ninth Truck Series start of the season and fourth at Homestead’s South Florida 1.5-mile track.

For the NASCAR Next alumnus, he hopes to deliver and capitalize on another trip to Miami and build on the team’s ninth-place finish last November.

“I can’t believe Homestead is here,” said Little. “I am blessed to have another opportunity to compete in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series and the chance to drive this No. 97 Diversified Utility Group Ford F-150. Homestead can be a challenging track, especially as the track transitions throughout the day, but hopefully we can take our notebook and apply it this week and get a strong finish in JJL Motorsports’ last race.”

For the 23rd race of the season, Little will be supported by the Diversity Utility Group LLC.

Founded in July 2013, Diversity Utility Group is a turnkey general contractor specializing in fiber optic telecommunications construction consisting of new build, maintenance, cellular towers for wireless providers, residential and commercial applications and more.

“To have the Diversified Utility Group LLC as the partner for JJL Motorsports this weekend at Homestead means the world to me and that is probably understated,” said president Logan Puckett.

“It certainly is a reminder that hard work and dedication does pay off and anything is possible if you set your mind to it and It also serves as motivation to continue to keep pushing and keep working hard towards our future goals.

“Also, having been based in the Carolinas historically we are hoping this will bring some brand awareness to our company in Florida and the Southeast as a whole.”

For Puckett, his experience at Homestead though is just the beginning.

He has purchased the assets of JJL Motorsports and will debut the team in 2020 as Diversified Motorsports Enterprises.

The team plans to run a limited schedule next year starting with the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February with Little as the team’s primary driver.

“I am really looking forward to taking over an outstanding program that JJL has put together as it provides a great foundation to build on and hopefully grow,” added Puckett. “I think the growth potential is what excites me the most.

“I am certainly looking forward to the challenge that this provides, and I hope that I can bring some value to the team and ultimately it would be awesome if I can bring value to the sport as a young owner with a fresh outlook.”

For Little, 22, who was announced last week as the new full-time driver for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller in the NASCAR Xfinity Series is thrilled to see Puckett take the reins of the team.

“I’m honored to represent Diversified Utility Group this weekend at Homestead,” added Little. “Logan has been so excited about the opportunity to enter the Truck Series as an owner in 2020, but to have his company be a part of our last race under the JJL Motorsports banner as a sponsor is even more awesome.

“Hopefully we can have a good performance for him on Friday night before looking ahead to 2020.”

Additional, JJL Motorsports welcomes back associate partners Skuttle Tight, Grindstaff Rub, Visit Kingsport and Parker Fibernet for the final race of the season.

Refreshed JJL Motorsports, Jesse Little ready for ISM Raceway battle

AVONDALE, Ariz.: Set to return to the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) scene for the first time since competing at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway in August, JJL Motorsports and driver Jesse Little are refreshed and confident heading into the penultimate race of the season at ISM (Ariz.) Raceway.

Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 will be the organization’s ninth start of the season and Little’s second in the heart of the desert. In his previous start at ISM Raceway – Little qualified 24th and contended for a top-10 finish before being a victim in a late race accident that left him with an 18th place finish.

“To say that I’m excited to get to Phoenix would be an understatement,” said Little. “It has been a couple of months now since our last race and we couldn’t be more pumped up then to get going here soon.

“Phoenix has always treated me well going back to the K&N car and even my one start I made there in the truck. This JJL Motorsports Ford will hopefully have the speed we seek and help have a competitive top-10 night.”

Planning to compete at Phoenix on Friday night and next weekend’s season-finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) International Speedway, the Sherrills Ford, N.C.-native is confident his team can finish what they started two years ago in Avondale.

“The layout will be a little different since the last time I was there, but I still think that the track will drive pretty similar,” added Little.

“Since August, we’ve been working hard on our two trucks getting them ready for Phoenix and Homestead. I think our preparation will pay off in practice and qualifying and hopefully a strong finish can carry us to the last race of the season with a lot of momentum.”

While Little’s team led by veteran crew chief Bill Henderson has been diligently preparing for the final 350 miles of the season, and the recent announcement of the sale of JJL Motorsports at the end of the season is nearing completion.

The No. 97 team is expected to continue to operate in 2020 under the leadership of a new owner.

Further details of the team’s plans for next season will be announced next week leading into Homestead-Miami Speedway race weekend.

“I’m really happy that my NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series team will have a new owner in the garage next season,” said team principal Jason Little.

But before the keys are passed on to new ownership – Jesse Little is focused on making the final 284 laps of the season the best it can be.

Long-time JJL Motorsports partner Skuttle Tight, a Willmar, Minn.-based manufacturer that offers two insulted attic access systems that are easy to install joins the team for their 10th race of the season.

“We are excited to once again be partnering with JJL Motorsports and Jesse Little for this week’s Phoenix race,” offered Skuttle Tight president Chad Kompelien. “We find this marketing partnership as a great avenue to market our products to all of the fans of NASCAR.

“Jesse and the team do a great job for us and we are excited for this Friday night’s race in Arizona.”

Jesse Little added, “I can’t stress enough how thankful I am for all of our supporters and partners this year. I owe it to each and every one of them to finish the year on a high note and give it all we have.”

Little, the son of former Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Chad Little will make his 31st career Gander Truck Series start on Nov. 8 and hopes to secure his eighth career top-10 finish.

Additionally, JJL Motorsports welcomes back associate partners Grindstaff Rub and Parker Fibernet for the next-to-last race of the season.

The Lucas Oil 150 (150 laps | 150 miles) is the 22nd of 23 races on the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series schedule. Practice begins on Fri., Nov. 8 from 8:05 a.m. – 8:55 a.m. A final practice has been etched in from 9:35 a.m. – 10:25 a.m. Qualifying is set for later in the day beginning at 3:05 p.m. The 32-truck field will take the green flag shortly after 6:30 p.m. with live coverage on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite Radio, Channel 90). Jesse Little; JJL Motorsports determined to shine at Charlotte Motor Speedway

CONCORD, N.C. – For Jesse Little and his JJL Motorsports team, Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway is their Super Bowl event.

Running a limited NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) schedule, the team takes great pride on every race they compete – but when it comes to Charlotte, it’s a prime opportunity to shine at their hometown track.

“I always look forward to Charlotte,” said Little. “It’s an important race for a lot of people. For a lot of my guys, this is their hometown race, so everyone’s morale is up because we feel like can go and put on a show on Friday night.”

Little, a native of Sherrills Ford, N.C. will make his NGOTS start at the 1.5-mile track on Friday night and looks to better his 16th place performance from last May.

“Charlotte’s an extremely fast track and the Trucks put on a great show there,” added Little. “It’s a relatively quick race, so we learned that track position is crucial for this race. We also need to make sure we keep our truck balanced as the track and weather conditions change throughout the day, especially with practice in the morning, qualifying in the afternoon and the race at night.

“We had a good truck last year and were in the hunt for a top-10 finish but had some late race obstacles that prevented us from getting there Despite those obstacles, we fought as a team, learned a lot and wound up with a decent finish.

“Hopefully we can take with what we learned last year and in our races this season and can get our first top-10 on Friday night.”

The team also hopes their performance on Friday night will spark the interest of a potential new marketing partner as the team will compete in the eighth race of the year without the benefit of a primary partner.

“We have a great team who can take a company’s dollar and stretch it a mile,” added Little. “We have a ton of races that we’d like to compete in this summer and surely would welcome the support.

“We know that strong performances will enable us the opportunity to bring new marketing partners to the table and I hope we can go to Charlotte and prove that.”

Without a primary partner, the team is still extremely thankful to have a slew of associate partners who will adorn the team’s truck for Little’s second Charlotte run.

Skuttle Tight, Parker FiberNet, Visit Kingsport, Grindstaff Rub, PFC Brakes and Dkota Investments will be showcased in Little’s 27th career start.

Looking forward, JJL Motorsports continues to work hard on securing additional partners and sponsors for the 2019 season including the upcoming race at Texas Motor Speedway and several races this summer.

“It takes a lot of people and even a bigger effort to get our No. 97 Ford to the track each week,” explained JJL Motorsports team principal Jason Little. “We continue to fight hard and go to the race track every week and give 100 percent. We’d like to increase our schedule this season but need the sponsorship support to make it happen.

“We’re doing a lot of things to try and bring new partners to the table, but we know that performance is everything and if we can go to Charlotte and run competitive, we have another opportunity to tell our story.”

The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 (134 laps| 201 miles) is the eighth of 23 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series races on the 2019 schedule. Practice begins on Fri., May 17 from 9:05 a.m. – 9:55 p.m. A final practice session is set for 10:35 a.m. – 11:25 p.m. Qualifying is set for later in the day beginning at 4:35 p.m. The 32-truck field will take the green flag shortly after 8:30 p.m. with live coverage on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), the Motor Racing Network (Radio) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Satellite Radio, Channel 90). All times are local (Eastern).

Jesse Little; JJL Motorsports ready to tame Monster Mile

DOVER, Del. – With his JJL Motorsports team feeling refreshed following nearly a five-week break from NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NGOTS) competition, driver Jesse Little is feeling rejuvenated and ready to head to Dover (Del.) International Speedway for Friday afternoon’s JEGS 200.

The “Monster Mile” as it’s called has historically been one of Little’s best race tracks and while it’s timid high banks and incredibly fast speeds can be haunting to some for the driver of the No. 97 JJL Motorsports Ford F-150, he knows it’s one of his best opportunities to earn his first career Truck Series victory.

“I love Dover, always have,” said Little who will make his fourth start of 2019. “It’s been one of those race tracks for me that I’ve always run good – even if I don’t have the results to show for it, but it’s one of that tracks that suits me and I think we can go there and contend for a win.”

Two years ago, Little nearly pulled off an underdog upset before circumstances took him out of contention – but as Little has shown time and time ago, situations aren’t setbacks – they are just a bump in the road that leads to bigger and better things.

“I’m excited to go to Dover and have the opportunity to showcase ourselves front and center,” added Little. “The last two years we’ve had fast trucks and I know that we’ll have more of the same on Friday.

“Dover is a race that can go by in a hurry, so you really need to have a good balance where you can take advantage of track position and even sometimes wrestle the fuel mileage card too. Our plan is to unload with what we know and adjust our truck from there. The track will change a lot from practice to the race, but I think its something we’re ready for and we’re determined to earn our first top-10 finish of the year.”

The team also hopes their performance on Friday will spark the interest of a potential new marketing partner as the team will compete in the sixth race of the year without the benefit of a primary partner.

“We have a great team who can take a company’s dollar and stretch it a mile,” added Little. “We know that strong performances will enable us the opportunity to bring new marketing partners to the table and I hope we can go to Dover and prove that.”

Without a primary partner, the team is still extremely thankful to have a slew of associate partners who will adorn the team’s truck for Little’s fourth Dover run.

Skuttle Tight, Parker FiberNet, Visit Kingsport, Grindstaff Rub, PFC Brakes and new partner Dkota Investments will be showcased in Little’s 26th career start.

Looking forward, JJL Motorsports continues to work hard on securing additional partners and sponsors for the 2019 season including the upcoming race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and several races this summer.
